Run is an unusual endless running game set in Outer Space, with a unique twist on the norm.

Running Through Space and Time

Like other endless runners such as Temple Run and Subway Surfers, the game requires you to control a character—in this case, an alien—that continuously runs forward. The aim is to avoid falling into space's abyss by dodging holes. Run's unique spin is that you can rotate the entire game space to transform the hole layout. However, while this gameplay twist is notable, it fails to enhance excitement as expected, and the game retains a certain monotony. There are no power-ups, achievements, or imaginative obstacles to dodge, reducing the gameplay to just unending, monotonous running in Outer Space.

Gameplay Controls

In Run, navigating your character involves left and right buttons, along with a jump button. While this isn't overly complex, the controls could be described as cumbersome. The left and right buttons can be unresponsive, and the absence of an option to touch anywhere on the screen's sides to move is noticeably lacking.

Visual Appeal

The aesthetics of Run may appeal to those who appreciate a retro 3D look. However, the graphics offer little variety, sticking to a pervasive neon stage and black background theme throughout—although the colors do change between levels. The character design is rudimentary and less than appealing.

Yet, an area where Run excels is in the music department. The house music soundtrack accompanying the game is one of its best attributes. It's a refreshing change from the standard looped tunes commonly associated with endless runner games.

Final Thoughts

All in all, Run provides a basic endless running experience. Even with its unique aspect—the rotation of the game space—it quickly becomes tedious.

  • Fresh and enjoyable house music soundtrack.
